Our Story

I loved reading as a kid, but somewhere along the way, I drifted away from it. Then in 2022, I picked up Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover and—honestly—sobbed my way through the whole thing. Let’s just say it reminded me exactly how much I love getting lost in a good book.

That summer, while I was nannying, I asked the kids if they wanted to make some bookmarks for the books we were all reading… and that’s when the little lightbulb went off: why not share them on Etsy?

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would grow this far. Every order, every message, every tiny bookish moment—it’s all honestly a dream come true, and I’m loving every page of this adventure ✨

About Me 

Hi, I’m Courtney—the owner, the designer, the packer, the everything behind markitlikeitshot. 😉

I live in Central PA with my husband, daughter, and our dog. My main job is being a SAHM to my adorable little toddler, and I used to teach full-time (though now I sub occasionally). I grew up in PA, and markitlikeitshot is still based here, too.

I also get the joy of being a full-time aunt a couple days a week to my adorable niece! This business has been such a dream—it fits perfectly in between my other part-time jobs and helps provide for my family.

How long will it take to get my order?

Orders are processed within 3-5 buisness days before being passed along to USPS.

Most of the time orders move along quickly, but sometimes shipping chooses the slow-burn route. If you have any questions or need an update on your order, feel free to reach out - I am always happy to help. 💌
What is your refund, exchange and cancelation policy?

As a super small business, all sales are final—no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations.

That said, if anything happens to your order during shipping or if I make a mistake, I promise I’ll make it right. Just send over a photo of your order along with your order number and I’ll take care of you 💌

If your order hasn’t been processed yet, I may be able to make changes—just reach out as soon as possible with your order number and what you’d like updated.

At the end of the day, I’ll always do my best to work with you—no plot twists here, just honest help ✨

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs depend on what you order and where it’s going. My website will do all the math for us, but rates usually hover around $5.

If you’re just picking up one little bookmark and don’t want to pay that much for shipping, send me a message! I can hook you up with a special code to make shipping just $1 and I’ll pop it in the mail with a stamp ✨

Just a heads-up: shipping with a stamp doesn’t include tracking, but your bookmark will still be on its way—ready to start a new chapter with you 🤎📖
Can I get a custom order?

I can create custom orders for 25+ bookmarks—just send me a message and let’s see if we can make it happen!

I can’t guarantee every vision will come to life, but we’ll give it a try and see what kind of magic we can make together ✨
Can i sell your products in my bookstore?

Well, of course! We’d love to partner with you—and I can even offer a wholesale discount so you can share these goodies in your bookstore.

While I wish I were a full-time graphic designer, I’ve only personally designed a handful of bookmarks. The good news? I get to partner with amazing designers who are small businesses themselves. I absolutely love being a small business that supports other small businesses—it’s like our own little literary community ✨
Do you have any brand reps?

Why yes, I do! I love working with reps to help spread the word about my small business. ✨
